New Clubhouse Moves Forward for Nelson Surf Life Saving Club

The Nelson Surf Life Saving Club has been granted resource consent for its new clubhouse at Tāhunanui, allowing the project to move ahead.

This is an important step for the club and enables the next phase of the build to begin.

For decades, the club has operated without a dedicated, fit-for-purpose base, working across containers, shared spaces, and temporary setups.

The new clubhouse will bring those operations together in one place, supporting patrols, training, equipment storage, and the club’s wider role in search and rescue and emergency response. It will also include space that can be used by the wider community for events and local activities.

This milestone marks a key point in the project, with the next stage focused on raising the funds to deliver the build.

The project is already well advanced through strong support from the community.

The Donate a Brick campaign is underway and building momentum, and there is a range of sponsorship opportunities available, including naming rights for key areas of the building.

The club would like to acknowledge the support from the community that has helped bring the project to this point.

If you are interested in contributing, either as an individual or as a business, the club would welcome your support.
