Last beach day of the 2026 season

Nelson Surf Lifesaving Club has brought to a close the 2026 season with their last beach patrol and Junior surf day.

What an amazing season it has been:

-Record levels of patrolling hours

-A big group of new Surf Lifeguards joining the club

-Up-skilling across all areas

-The SAR team excelling in all areas

-Huge growth in our outstanding Junior Surf programme which is the lifeblood of our great club.

Whilst it is sad to see the season come to an end, we have a prizegiving to celebrate the year on the 22nd March and continued activity through winter in the pool.

A massive thanks to all that have contributed to the success of our club this season, especially our lifeguards and parent helpers that make it all possible. We cannot understate the time, energy and sacrifice of our volunteers in hosting all the activities we do. In our busy lives making time for our club is not easy and we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. You are all legends.

Ultimately this effort is all repaid in the joy of seeing our children having fun, learning new skills and growing in confidence in and out of the water. This is why we are all part of the awesome Surf Lifesaving community.
